This page consists of the kinds of math I love, and some
papers I have written! Granted, these papers are not very good since I
recently started getting into proofs in my Number Systems course, but I
have some more math I’m experienced in.
my life & mathematics
As crazy as it sounds, I used to hate mathematics, as does
pretty much everyone. But then, in my high school Algebra II class, I had
an epiphany. Suddenly, everything made sense; everything seemed to
instantly click in my head! Exponent rules, logarithms, trigonometric
functions, statistics and probability! It all seemed so surreal for all of
these things to be somehow connected one way or another. Then I started to
stay after school to help people do homework assignments or review for
tests.
courses i took
- Calculus I - Sabrina Fiorentino (A)
- Calculus II - Ezekiel Lemann (B)
- Linear Algebra - Quincy Loney (B)
- Calculus III - Mathew Wolak (B)
- Number Systems - Alexander Borisov (B)
- Ordinary Differential Equations - Mathew Wolak (B-)
Courses I plan on taking this semester are "Differential Geometry" taught by John Abou-Rached and "Complex Analysis" taught by Xiangjin Xu.
struggles with math
Admittedly, I am not a math savant. I currently have to
tackle some hurdles, especially my proof-based course Number Systems and
Calculus III. I would hope that these courses do not discourage me from
pursuing math, because I really do enjoy studying math.
my favorite books
Higher Algebra, Hall and Knight
Precalculus, Pearson 10th Edition
